The KENSEI – 2 mm High Performance men is the right choice for kendoka who value reliable protection, high durability and excellent value for money in their training. The name KENSEI (剣誠) stands for the ‘sincere and reliable swordsman’ – and that is exactly what this men is made for: as a robust, reliable companion for intensive keiko and daily use in the dojo.
The futon is made from 100% cotton in heavy 6,000-count quality, which is indigo-dyed by hand. Combined with the sturdy padding, this ensures that even powerful strikes to the men are effectively cushioned, whilst the men retains its shape and stability over the long term.
Areas subject to particular wear are protected by robust reinforcements made from indigo-dyed cowhide leather. The hybrid men-gane, made from titanium and aluminium, combines two key advantages: low weight thanks to the aluminium alloy and high stability thanks to the titanium. The top four struts are made from titanium – precisely where the shinai strikes most frequently – thus ensuring additional safety whilst remaining comfortable to wear.
