The Shinai YATURUGI was developed for kendōka who consciously work with grip profile, blade guidance and impulse transfer – especially in jodan and katate techniques.

Grip profile – Hakkaku (octagonal-oval)

The distinctive Hakkaku grip, approximately 25 mm wide and 31 mm high, creates a clearly defined hand guide.

The oval geometry noticeably stabilises the cutting line and reduces unwanted twisting during quick changes of direction. Especially when wielded with one hand, the shinai remains controllable and steady.

The YATURUGI has a slightly forward-biased balance.

This weight distribution supports decisive, powerful attacks and conveys a direct, powerful feeling in the forward movement.

Energy is not "absorbed" but transferred immediately.
