MEN SHIELD
In kendo, close contact is an integral part of training.
The MEN SHIELD has been designed to reduce the horizontal spread of aerosols during breathing and kiai, thereby making training safer in environments with strict hygiene requirements.
It provides an additional layer of protection in the men without significantly restricting freedom of movement or vision.
Function & Protective Effect
The protector is fitted inside the men and acts as a barrier against aerosols escaping forwards.
It thus helps to reduce potential transmission risks during intensive training sessions, particularly during close partner training.
Recommendation & Use
The use of such a shield has been recommended by the All Japan Kendo Federation.
For increased protection, it can be worn in combination with a standard face mask.
Use in the dojo
Suitable for regular dojo training as well as for courses and events with heightened hygiene standards.
The protector is easy to put on and take off and does not significantly impair the handling of the men.
