The Tsukagawa for large-grip shinai (Tsukabuto) was specially developed for wider grips with a circumference of 27 mm - 28 mm and ensures a stable hold under intense stress.
Made from high-quality gin leather, it combines an ergonomic fit with durable material quality – for kendōka who wield their shinai consciously and powerfully.
Material & workmanship
Gin leather (Gingawa), the high-quality grain leather of cowhide, is used. This leather is traditionally used for premium shinai and is characterised by its particular strength and fine surface structure.
The precise workmanship ensures even tension across the entire grip area – even with repeated, powerful techniques.

This Tsukagawa is specially designed for large-grip shinai (Tsukabuto) and is available in sizes 37, 38 and 39.
