Tsuka: The shinaihandle
Tsukagawa: The handles leather
Chigiri: Metallplate in the center of the handle
Tsuba: Protector for the handle
Tsuba-dome: Fixes the tsuba.
Tsuru: Spanning string between tsukagawa and sakigawa
Sakigawa: Leathercap of the shinais tip
Nagayui: Leatherstring at the beginning of the upper third part (monouchi) of the shinai. Fixes the tsuru and marks the monouchi
Sakigome: Spacer at the end of the shinai inbetween the separate take
Take: One single bamboo part of the shinai
Kensen: The monouchi of the shinai. It´s the sharpest part of the katana.
